The art of selling pictures of your feet is something that has stunned the internet for years.
But you may be wondering, how can anyone possibly make money from simply snapping a photo of their toes?
Well, we’ve been exploring all of the avenues that turn foot fetishes into a real business for some women.
“I’m 25 years old and I make six to seven thousand dollars a month doing this,” says TikTok creator ‘lyneonlypage’ in one of her videos.
“I had to stay consistent, I had to stay locked in, I had to stay on top of it. Not give up or get discouraged.
“Once the money comes in you stop questioning why this works.”
According to a report by Footly, foot fetishes account for 47% of all fetishes, making it the most common. Approximately 10-30% of people experience some sort of attraction to feet.
The report quotes research from neuroscientist Dr. V.S. Ramachandran at UC San Diego, who claims that there may be cross-over in the brain that activates genital regions, creating a sexual association with feet.
But not everybody makes such high figures. Some Reddit users claim that selling these pictures isn’t as easy as you may think.
“It’s a lot of marketing work. Selling your brand and keeping up with a constant stream of content to keep your customers interested.” One user says. “Everyone thought OnlyFans would be easy money at first but the market is flooded. You need influencer skills to be relevant.”
“It takes a lot of research, you have to start promoting yourself then build up an audience. You have to take quality pictures, you have to stand out and be different,” another user says. “The market is so oversaturated.”
One of the core websites that lead this industry is ‘FeetFinder’, a site for both buyers and sellers to trade easily and safely.
They claim that around 50% of new sellers earn less than $50 in their first month, emphasising how difficult it may be for new-starters.
They also share that the median salary for an established seller who has been selling for over 6 months is around $600 per month. This makes it more of a side-hustle than a full-time stable income.
Another woman called Haley, known as ‘KittyKisses’ on TikTok, discusses her business selling these pictures and shares tips for anyone hoping to do the same.
“It’s not hard,” she says in one of her videos. “It takes a few shots but it’s not super difficult. The more challenging part is that it takes time.
“You’re never going to get 50 clients on your first day who are all going to want to pay $2000. It just doesn’t happen. If it does then it’s typically a scam.
“It’s not a bunch of money super quickly, especially not when you’re starting out. The more you do it, the better you get at it. You build it up.”
There is a large misconception, particularly online, that selling photos of your feet is either a huge money maker or complete scam.
For the women actually earning an income from this industry, it can be lucrative but isn’t always consistent.
“The most I’ve ever made on a video is about $120,” Haley says. “The most I’ve made in a day is about $200. You can definitely make more than that but it takes time to get there. It depends on you.
“Money is inconsistent. Some days I’m flooded with requests and other days it’s silent. That can be concerning if this is your only source of income.”
This proves that making money from simple photos of your feet isn’t impossible. It just may take a little longer than you’d expect.
