Sensual experimentation is currently the top sex trend shaping 2026 according to the Superdrug Great British Sex Report.
The report has highlighted that 22% of couples would like to schedule at least an hour a week to experiment with their partner.

Jody Sill, a psychosexual therapist and kink educator from Sheffield says: “Sexual experimentation may be a top trend this year due to what I can only describe as the sex positivity movement.
“In other words, there are many more conversations happening around sex that frame it as natural, pleasurable, and fun.
“When the wonderful world of sex is more openly and realistically represented and discussed, this can inspire curiosity and subsequent experimentation.”
After surveying over 2,000 sexually active adults from across the UK, the top five trends included Exploration Hour, Jet-set Arousal, The Sensation Shuffle, The 5-minute Foreplay Fix and The Soft Solo.
Superdrug spoke to sex and relationships coach, Gemma Nice, on these upcoming trends.
She said: “There’s a growing shift towards being more intentional about sex and creating space to truly explore intimacy.
“Intimacy is no longer just about sex itself, but about what the experience means emotionally and mentally.
“Trying something new in the bedroom can trigger a surge of dopamine and serotonin, the body’s feel-good hormones, making experiences more pleasurable and exciting. Embracing new trends or mixing things up can reignite desire, deepen connection, and help keep intimacy feeling fresh rather than routine.”
Jet-set arousal was the second top trend, finding that 19% of the Brits surveyed wanted to travel more, specifically for intimacy.
This could be anything from booking a city-break to a weekend staycation, but exploring sexuality in new locations seems to be another rising trend this year.

The report also found doggy-style to be the most popular position for UK couples, with 47% claiming it to be their favourite, with 1 in 5 men and almost 1 in 6 women saying it brings the quickest climax.
Woman-on-top was voted second place, splitting opinions with 56% of men saying it was their favourite and 38% of women saying the same.
Superdrug also revealed that the top positions people want to try are lotus position with 18% of responses, standing face-to-face with 12% and reverse cowgirl and squatting-on-top tied for third place with 11%.
